Opening new windows, (not really it's cold outside)

This week we were given the topic of blogging about blogging. At first, I was mind boggled about the complexity of this assignment. First off this assignment included creating a blog. I am not one to use facebook a lot, or social networking for that matter, so being on the computer was never my , thing. So this was my first hurdle to conquer. After climbing this mountain, I had to face figuring out how to use a blog. Not being the blogging type, I looked up a couple of blogs to see how they were formatted. From what I found there are not rules to blogging. Just like people, each blog can be unique in their own way. After writing a blog this semester, I felt I was opened to new windows of literacy. I also accepted new ways of writing that made me come out of my comfort zone of the literacy that I was used to. Also it was a new way of connecting and learning more about my peers in the classroom with being super embarrassed to talk to new people in class. I feel that it was a new way to get to know someone without coming off as a "dumbass". Also if someone is shy in class, its a way for them to show their thoughts and feelings because they might not be able to express them in a classroom setting. I think this is a great thing for a English class to do and a great way to improve writing in a modern sense.

  3. I know what you mean about coming out of your "comfort zone". I was the same way, i'm not used to having people read my writings so posting stuff on my wall and having people read and comment on it was something I had to get used to
